History of Fermes E&D LEVESQUE Potato Farms

In 1920, Edmond LEVESQUE Sr.  establishes the farm in Saint-André, close to Grand Falls, in New-Brunswick.

  • The traditional farm exploits various livestock while growing & selling potatoes.

In 1945, Réal LEVESQUE takes over the farm from his father and focusses his business on milk production.

  • Three generations within the family business: From L to R: Daniel LEVESQUE, his son Eric, grandfather Réal, his grandson Denis (Daniel’s other son), & uncle & Réal’s son, Edmond LEVESQUE.

    While doing milk production & animal breeding, growing and selling potatoes provide regular contracts with a new transformation local factory (McCain).

In 1975, the family gives up milk production and specializes into the production of table & processing potatoes.

In 1984, brothers Edmond & Daniel LEVESQUE  take over from their father, Réal, and concentrate their business furthermore into the potato industry.

In 2008, after working on the family farm since their youth,     Eric & Denis LEVESQUE (Daniel’s sons), start woking full time alongside their father and uncle.
